More than 20 brands will be introduced at this year’s Budapest Central European Fashion Week, taking place 22–28 January at the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts and the HAB Hungarian Art and Business building on Andrássy Avenue in Budapest, Hungary, as informed by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) on Monday, 8 January.
The statement recalls that over the past years,
the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) has become one of the most significant fashion events in the Central European region.
BCEFW serves as the primary platform for professionals, buyers, designers, and domestic as well as international media to converge in the region. As stated, the event brings together the meeting of traditions and modernity for the general public.
According to the information provided, more than 20 brands will be featured in the programme series.
Alongside Hungarian designers, the audience will have the opportunity to encounter works from regional designers as well. The presence of regional brands at the event provides an opportunity to enhance the export opportunities of the creative industries. The exposure also serves as a springboard for brands to enter international markets, as highlighted in the statement. The catwalk shows and collective presentations will take place at the Museum of Fine Arts.
Recalling the previous season, the audience experienced, for the first time in the history of BCEFW, the Fashion Hub concept:
following the professional practice of international fashion weeks, thematic, free programmes will be presenting the world of fashion in an informal manner. As emphasized, the aim of the Fashion Hub, held in the HAB Hungarian Art and Business building on Andrássy Avenue, is to reach and inspire the youth, especially the Z generation. The event will feature professional lectures, workshops focusing on sustainability and technological innovations, and roundtable discussions for those interested.
‘The MDDÜ’s strategic goal is to strengthen the position of the domestic fashion and design industry on the regional stage, and the events organized in this spirit also make the country more attractive to tourists. The choice of location for BCEFW is a very advantageous one in terms of national image, as attendees, international professionals, and media representatives will visit one of the capital’s most important tourist centres, including the Museum of Fine Arts, City Park, Heroes’ Square, and the Hungarian Art and Business building on Andrássy Avenue,’ the statement quoted Zsófia Jakab, the CEO of MDDÜ.
