To achieve this result, SE had to

surpass hundreds of American and European universities, including Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute, Sorbonne University in Paris, King’s College London,

Merkely emphasized that the clinic performs over 15,000 surgeries annually, and there is no procedure they are unable to perform. Merkely also mentioned that SE plays a significant role in developing healthcare in the region. Additionally, during Hungary’s upcoming EU presidency, cardiovascular disease prevention and the creation of a joint EU action plan will be a top priority for healthcare.

The university offers a wide range of medical and health sciences programmes, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, and public health. With a focus on integrating education, research, and patient care, Semmelweis University is renowned for its contribution to both national and international medical communities.
