Development continues at the Mogyoród racetrack, where the Hungaroring has been almost entirely levelled during the next phase of its renovation. The main building and grandstands at the finish line have already been demolished. The essential part of the renovation is expected to be completed by 2026, with the development costing 78.9 billion HUF.
The Hungarian venue of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Hungaroring, is undergoing a major refurbishment. Not only is the racetrack being modernized, but the grandstands are also being upgraded.
Work resumed almost immediately after the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix, with demolition well underway. The country’s premier motorsport venue is now unrecognizable, with the main building and the grandstands at the finish line already dismantled.
Even the Super Gold Tribune, reserved for the most important guests, has been torn down. This was where the wealthiest fans enjoyed the races, but they need not worry, as a new luxury pavilion will be built for the 2025 race. Tickets for the Super Gold Tribune for next year’s Hungarian Grand Prix will cost 275,000 HUF, according to rumours.

The first phase of the Mogyoród racetrack’s development was completed before this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, which saw the main entrance and its associated building renovated. The entire renovation will cost 105 billion HUF. Today, alongside Monza, Hungaroring is the only other track that has hosted Formula 1 Grand Prix races continuously since 1986, and by 2026, the fully renovated facility will host the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hungarian Conservative has previously reported on the renovations, however, the work could not begin in full force until the race weekend of the year commenced. Now that the Grand Prix is over, in merely a month almost the entirety of the track was demolished.
The renovations are expected to raise the Hungaroring to the level of the best European tracks.
While the full opening is scheduled for 2026, this does not mean that the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix will not be organized. Renovations will still be ongoing during the GP, however, the organizers will make sure that everything on and around the track is up to the FIA standards before hosting the race weekend.
