Accomplished actors Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone, and Jon Voight will be serving as President Trump’s ‘special envoys’ to Hollywood to bring the film industry back to success. But they are not the only household-name celebrities who support the newly inaugurated President.

Academy Award-winning actors Mel Gibson and Jon Voight, as well as Academy Award-nominated actor Sylvester Stallone have been named by President Donald Trump as ‘special Hollywood ambassadors’. According to Trump’s announcement on his own social media site Truth Social, ‘they will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK’.

Voight, who is the father of famed actress Angelina Jolie, has been a supporter of the Republican Party for over a decade. Rocky star Stallone only came out in support of Trump ahead of his election win in November and gave him his endorsement. Afterwards, he even called him ‘a second George Washington’ at an event at Mar-a-Lago in November last year.

Gibson has been critical of both Democrat President Bill Clinton and Republican President George W Bush in the past. In 2006, he was recorded going on an anti-semitic tirade while being arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles, California. Evidently, he shied away from commenting on political issues for a long time thereafter. Gibson, however, has been apologizing for the incident ever since it took place, and was provably intoxicated at the time he made those statements.

The American film industry, and the entertainment industry as a whole, has been skewing to the left for decades, and increasingly so. Finding three actors of their magnitude that are willing to associate with a Republican president, especially Trump, is quite rare—however, it is not unheard of. Here is a list of people with similarly successful careers in the entertainment industry who have been willing to go against the Hollywood narrative and support the Republican Party; or just speak out against the woke agenda.

James Woods

Actor James Woods has been nominated for an Oscar twice: in 1986, in the Best Actor category for his role in the film Salvador; and ten years later, in 1996, in the Best Supporting Actor category for Ghosts of Mississippi. The younger generation likely knows him better for his voice-over work, lending his voice to Hades in the 1997 Disney animated film Hercules, and voicing a spoof version of himself on the adult animated sitcom Family Guy.

He is very active on the social media platform X, where his posts, which are usually very positive about President Trump and his allies, routinely get tens of thousands of likes.

Adam Carolla

Comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla never gave his official endorsement to Trump (or any other politician). However, based on his opinions on political and social issues, it is clear which side of the aisle he is on. In 2017, he even testified before Congress about the threat to free speech on American college campuses. A brief segment of that testimony went viral after the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, in which he recalled his experience as a young adult of being discriminated against by the LA Fire Department for being white and male.

Interestingly, he started his career as a close associate of comedian Jimmy Kimmel. The two co-hosted The Man Show on Comedy Central from 1999 to 2004. Kimmel, however, became a rabid anti-Trump talk show host, who routinely dedicates his monologue on his show on ABC to showing his disdain for the President.

Roseanne Barr

Comedienne Roseanne Barr had her own hit sitcom on ABC between 1988 and 1997. She came out as a vocal supporter of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election campaign. Despite that, her show was revived by ABC in 2018, but it was then promptly cancelled after Barr made a supposedly racist tweet about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett. Since then, she has not had any major projects. However, she did remain an enthusiastic Trump supporter online.

Joe Rogan

Rogan is hosting the most successful podcast in the world, with an average of 10–15 million listeners per episode. Ahead of the 2024 election, he was a major topic of discussion, as he interviewed Donald Trump, and there were talks of him interviewing Kamala Harris as well. However, the Harris team ultimately decided not to have her on the show. Rogan’s interview with President Trump currently has reached over 54.5 million views and has received 2.2 million likes on YouTube alone.

Joe Rogan Experience #2219 – Donald Trump

Donald Trump is currently the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the Republican Party. He previously served as America’s 45th president, and is also a businessman and media personality.

Rogan gave his official endorsement to Donald Trump on the morning of election day 2024. Many analysts believe that he was a major factor in Trump’s improvement with young male voters.

Although Rogan has reached the peak of his career in alternative media as a podcaster, he has had a career in traditional entertainment as well. He played a role on the sitcom NewsRadio on NBC between 1995 and 1999. He also hosted the game show Fear Factor on NBC from 2001 to 2006.

Snoop Dogg

Rapper Snoop Dogg’s biggest hits to date are Gin and Juice (1993) and Drop It Like It’s Hot (2004). He was initially one of the many fierce opponents of President Trump in the music industry. He even staged a mock assassination of the 45th POTUS in the music video for his 2017 song Lavender (Nightfall Remix). However, in 2021, Donald Trump decided to commute the sentence of Death Row Records co-founder Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris who was serving a 33-year sentence for drug trafficking. Harry-O is a friend of Snoop Dogg, and thus he was moved by the clemency which was given to his friend despite his previous bashing of the President.

Snoop Dogg has praised Trump publicly since, saying ‘I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump’ in a January 2024 interview with The Sunday Times. He performed at one of President Trump’s inaugural balls in 2025 as well.
