Georgescu’s communication team posted on X that he was going to submit his candidacy today. Last weekend there was a large collection of signatures with the explicit support of President of AUR (Alliance for the Union of Romanians) George Simion and his party, the second largest in the country; they collected 200,000 signatures in just one day.

Today, Călin Georgescu was supposed to submit his candidacy for the new Presidency. Just 10 minutes ago, the system stopped him in traffic and he was taken for questioning at the General Prosecutor’s Office! Where is democracy now, where are the partners who should defend…

Without prior notice, Georgescu has been arrested today, and at this very moment is being interrogated for no apparent reason.

Influencer and businessman Mario Nawfal had been talking to Georgescu to interview him, since this morning there had already been arrests of people close to Georgescu. However, Georgescu was detained and was unable to do the interview. In fact, Nawfal’s legal team suggested to him that after interviewing Georgescu and Simion, he should publish the interviews only after leaving Romania for his own safety.

Mario Nawfal on X (formerly Twitter): “🚨🇷🇴 Now I understand why my legal team asked me to leave Romania before posting my interviews with Călin Georgescu and George SimionThey literally raided the homes of all of Călin’s supporters and taken him into custody minutes ago.AND THIS IS AN EU AND NATO MEMBER!… https://t.co/odtyHO9U14 / X”

I had the opportunity to speak with George Simion to get an exclusive statement on what has happened.

‘The AUR party stands by Călin Georgescu, who was subjected to incredible abuse today. Political police is more active than ever in Romania at present. We want public explanations for this extremely dangerous measure against Mr Georgescu, we want our democracy back! Foreign interference in the electoral process in Romania must stop. Do you hear, Thierry Breton?’ Simion said in front of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

If this can happen in a country of the European Union with the approval of Ursula Von der Leyen and the European Parliament, this can happen in any Member State; and we have to be prepared for anything.

After Donald Trump returned to the White House, the globalists are more nervous than ever, and there seems to be something they want to hide and protect in Romania; hence that a legitimate candidate like Georgescu cannot win the elections.

Let’s remember that Călin Georgescu swept the last polls with more than 45 per cent.
