Seven Hungarian enterprises have earned a place in the prestigious Financial Times (FT) FT1000 list, which ranks Europe’s one thousand fastest-growing companies based on their annual growth rates. The British financial newspaper announced the results on Tuesday.

Leading the Hungarian contingent, A1 Solar, a provider of photovoltaic systems, achieved a remarkable 12th position in the overall ranking, making it the highest-ranked company from Hungary. Further down the list, data analytics firm DATAPAO secured the 210th spot, while Sprintform, specializing in digital consultancy and the development of web and mobile applications, was placed at 342.

Other Hungarian companies to feature include Continest, a container development firm, at 428th; construction-focused Lakógép at 450th; business intelligence provider Hiflylabs at 923rd; and Maraelite, a server distributor, in 963rd place.

The FT1000 ranking was compiled in collaboration with German data research company Statista and is based on the annual growth rate of companies between 2020 and 2023. According to the findings, over three-quarters of the listed enterprises are headquartered in Italy, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, reflecting the continued economic dominance of these nations within Europe.

The sectoral distribution of the fastest-growing companies shows that around one-fifth operate in the information technology and software industries. This is followed by a strong representation from construction and engineering, energy and utilities, advertising and marketing, as well as fintech, financial services and insurance.

Topping this year’s FT1000 list is Poland’s Menlo Electric, an energy company founded in 2020. The firm secured first place after increasing its revenue from just over 187,000 euros to more than 15 million euros within three years, exemplifying extraordinary growth in a highly competitive sector.

Hungary’s notable presence in the FT1000 reflects the country’s evolving business landscape, marked by dynamic enterprises capable of achieving significant growth across various industries on the European stage.
