Director General for the Budapest-based conservative think tank Center for Fundamental Rights Miklós Szánthó took to Facebook to congratulate Gavin Wax on being appointed as the new Chief of Staff for Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Nathan Simington in the United States.
Wax served as the President of the New York Young Republican Club, a prestigious organization founded in 1911, from April 2019 until his resignation in April 2025 due to his new appointment. He was one of the featured speakers at CPAC Hungary 2024 last April. In July of the same year, he returned to Budapest, Hungary, to announce at a joint press conference with Director Szánthó the launch of the Center’s ‘Wokebusters’ initiative. After the event, he also gave an exclusive interview to our website.
‘My sincere congratulations to our friend Gavin Wax on his appointment as Chief of Staff of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC)! This appointment is not only well deserved but a perfectly logical next step, giving another CPAC Hungary veteran an important position in the US government. I wish you the best of luck, Gavin, in this exciting and responsible role!’ Szánthó wrote in his congratulatory post on Facebook.
‘It is an honour to serve as Chief of Staff to Commissioner Simington. The FCC plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of American communications and innovation. I look forward to advancing an agenda that supports free expression, dynamic markets, and national security in our increasingly digital world,’ Wax said about his appointment, according to a press release by the FCC.
