Anton Bendarzsevszkij

Anton Bendarzsevszkij, has MA degrees in history and media and communication from the university of Pécs, Hungary, and also studied political science at the University of Leicester, UK. He is currently completing his PhD at the Doctoral Program in Geopolitics at the University of Pécs. Between 2015 and 2019, he was the director of Pallas Athene Innovation and Geopolitical Foundation (PAIGEO), the organization founded by the Central Bank of Hungary. He is a regular columnist at Index and Mandiner. In November 2020, Bendarzsevszkij became the leader of the geopolitical research group at the Danube Institute, and in June 2021 he was appointed as the director of research of the organization. He specializes in the internal and foreign policy of the post- Soviet countries, focusing on Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, in addition to energy security, and security politics.
Although Western politicians have repeatedly expressed the idea that Russia may be behind the migration crisis in Belarus, this does not seem to correspond with reality.
