This year Azahriah, Beton.Hofi, and Margaret Island will perform on the main stage of the Sziget Festival. Between 7–12 August, hundreds of Hungarian artists will also perform on other stages, as is tradition.
The organizers announced on Tuesday that the Hungarian acts will perform on the main stage, the Colosseum, the Bolt Party Arena, the Revolut Stage, The Buzz, the dropYard, the Petőfi Stage, the Global Village, and Sziget Beach, among others.
The main stage will continue to feature Hungarian artists who are preparing for Sziget with unique performances, not only presenting new material but also offering a springboard to international fame. Azahriah will be the first Hungarian singer in a long time to perform in the pre-headlining slot. The young talent recently filled the Puskás Arena three times in a row, and will now perform on the main stage of Sziget to a swelling audience of 60–70,000 people.
Beton.Hofi brings a special programme to Sziget in collaboration with the world-famous Rajkó Gypsy Orchestra. Margaret Island, celebrating its 10th anniversary, is preparing for its first big stage performance with an interdisciplinary performance with the dancers of the Szeged Contemporary Ballet.
The Revolut Stage will feature artists such as Platon Karataev and Analog Balaton, while the Bolt Arena will host Dublic and B’Andre, founders of the Next Level party series, as well as Metha, representing the Be Massive brand. The Colosseum will host over twenty local acts. In the dropYard, the festival’s hip-hop and rap stage, Pogány Induló, Ótvar Pestis, 6363, Sisi, Bongor, and Lil Frakk will perform. The Buzz, the former Europe Stage, will feature Co Lee, Elefánt, Freakin’ Disco, Anahit, iamyank, and Jazzbois. On Sziget Beach, Lőrinc Barabás, Superflake, Zsüd, Naga & Beta, and several DJ teams including Hulable, Eclipse Bali, Budapest Calling, Syndanz, Treehouse crew, and Sandbox will appear on the stage.
The Global Village will feature Besh o Drom, Bohemian Betyars, Duckshell, Romano Drom, and ZitheRandom, among others. On the Petőfi Stage, attendees can see performers such as Esti Kornél, Ivan & The Parazol, Abigél, Anna and the Barbies, Sziámi, Lazarvs, and Devil’s Trade.
In addition to music, the AHA Collective, Réka Oberfrank, Gyula Cserepes, Mikolt Tózsa, and the Sleeping Beauty Project will also perform at the Theatre and Dance venue. Artists appearing at the street theatre will include Brass On The Road and the Giant Bubble Show, while the Cirque du Sziget Big Top will see the return of students from the Baross Imre Artist Training Institute. Besides, the street performances of the Karzat Theatre, the Vándor Vurstli, the Hungarian Juggling Association, and puppeteer Dániel Nizsai will also be present.
The Magic Mirror programme will feature Hungarian acts as well: mïus concert, Triton party, Pamperers workshops, and a closing party with three progressive Hungarian bands. There will also be a performance by the Trojka Theatre Troupe, directed by Dorka Gryllus and starring Márk Lakatos, and a comedy show by Hungarian comedians Kitty Nagy and Dániel Said on Saturday.
