At the Hungarian Embassy in Washington, D.C., as a side event to CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference), Shea Bradley-Farrell presented her book on Hungarian politics entitled Last Warning to the West: Hungary’s Triumph Over Communism and the Woke Agenda on Thursday, 22 February.
In her book the author, President of the Counterpoint Institute and a leading member of the Center for Fundamental Rights, presents Hungarian historical roots and recommends the Hungarian example to Western countries regarding the implementation of conservative values in political practice in her book.
During the book launch, Hungary’s Ambassador to the United States Szabolcs Takács emphasized the determination of Hungarians to survive despite all odds. He elaborated that throughout history, Hungarians have fought for survival against various adversaries, including the Mongols, the Ottomans, and the Habsburgs as well as against Nazis and communists in the 20th century.
Director of the Center for Fundamental Rights Miklós Szánthó stressed the necessity of building coalitions that represent conservative values and highlighted that these values are under attack by progressive forces. In an interview with the Hungarian public media, Szánthó stated that since the attack against traditional values is global from the side of globalists, it is necessary to create an international coalition of anti-globalists in response. Miklós Szánthó will also speak at CPAC on Friday.
Several prominent US political figures attended the CPAC event at the Hungarian Embassy, including Kari Lake, a politician from Arizona, whose name has recently been mentioned as a possible vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump, and Attorney General of Texas Ken Paxton, the state’s chief legal officer. Kari Lake expressed that while
Hungary has set an example of survival throughout history,
the United States is currently fighting for survival, and therefore, she would like to see certain elements of Hungarian politics implemented in the United States.
CPAC is a traditional and the largest gathering of American conservative forces with a 60-year history. The 2024 event started on Wednesday with an international summit, with Thursday and Friday mostly featuring American politicians and public figures expressing their thoughts. On Saturday, Donald Trump will deliver a speech, coinciding with the day of the South Carolina Republican primary.
