The Metrodome Group, active in the Budapest real estate market since 1996, is opening its first representative office in Israel to offer investment opportunities in the Hungarian capital to Israeli investors. Among the many positive arguments in favour of Budapest, one that stands out is that Hungary remains one of the safest countries for the Jewish community in Europe.

Is Budapest the next hot spot for Israeli investors? This question headlines an article in one of Israel’s leading newspapers, The Jerusalem Post. According to the article, the Metrodome Group, active in the Budapest real estate market since 1996, is opening its first Israeli representative office. This office aims to connect potential investment opportunities in the Hungarian capital with Israeli investors.

As noted in the article, Budapest is a relatively close target for Israeli investors and demonstrates exceptional property value growth compared to well-known alternatives such as Romania or Germany.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Budapest could be attractive to Israeli investors for several reasons. The article highlights that properties can be purchased at affordable prices in neighbourhoods rich in culture, cuisine, and other amenities. Additionally,

the business centres are safe and have growth potential, and assets can be leveraged into yielding properties.

Compared to large cities in neighbouring countries such as Vienna, Prague, or Warsaw, market entry prices in Budapest are lower. However, unlike the Greek property market, the Hungarian market is stable and solid. Additionally, Hungary offers a Golden Visa to investors who invest over 500,000 euros, and Metrodome assists investors in this process with local authorities. Therefore, owning property in Budapest is a significant advantage for those conducting business in Europe.

In addition—and perhaps this is one of the most important factors at the moment—Hungary does not see the growing anti-Semitism that has been prevalent in the West since the outbreak of the Israeli-Hamas conflict, and pro-Palestinian rallies are banned. Furthermore, as noted by The Jerusalem Post, the local government’s handling of the immigration issue provides stability and calm regarding personal security.

New Research Shows Hungary Still One of Safest Countries for Jewish People in Europe

There is also a large community of Israeli students in Hungary, primarily in Budapest, studying medicine. Approximately 1,200 Israeli students live, study, and rent apartments in Budapest and nearby cities.

Speaking to The Jerusalem Post, Omer Zarzevsky, the Metrodome Group’s representative in Israel, stressed:

‘The properties we offer for investment meet the needs of Israeli investors. Hungary is a country that supports Israel and offers a wealth of culture, cuisine, and many other attractions in the property area. A property in a business centre is a safe channel with growth potential, and it can be leveraged into a yielding asset. Additionally, a Golden Visa for investors above a certain amount is essential for those operating in Europe.’
