The Day of Coffee will celebrate its twelfth edition in Hungary, offering coffee enthusiasts unlimited tastings of top-quality, specialty coffees, professional competitions, and exclusive pairings at Budapest’s Akvárium Klub. The event marking International Coffee Day is a unique opportunity to discover diverse coffee varieties, meet roasters, and enjoy interactive programmes and contests.

The Day of Coffee (A Kávé Napja) event will welcome guests on Sunday at the Akvárium Klub with all-day, unlimited coffee tasting, coffee cocktails, competitions, programmes, machines and equipment, as well as top-quality coffees available for purchase to take home.

In Hungary the Day of Coffee event will celebrate International Coffee Day for the twelfth time, providing an opportunity for the public to meet domestic roasters, international coffee distributors, coffee machine traders, and baristas, organizer Noémi Szuna told MTI.

She emphasized that coffee lovers will have the chance to taste high-quality, specialty coffees at the exhibitors’ tables; several coffee partners of Michelin-starred restaurants in Hungary will also be present at the event. Throughout the day, various coffee drinks made from top-quality arabica varieties will be available for unlimited tasting, brewed on professional coffee machines that can cost as much as a car.

By following the stage programmes, the audience will gain plenty of information about the world of coffee while discovering products that suit their taste, ranging from strong caffeine bombs to mild roasted, citrusy high-altitude African coffees, the statement said.

Competitions will not be lacking this year either, as both professional and amateur milk foam-pouring baristas will compete in the Latte Art Throwdown, a cash-prize championship using dice, while the audience can join the Push for Change capsule-pressing contest hosted by Samurai Shoelace.

Those who purchase tickets to the exclusive tastings will be able to try top-quality African capsule collections, as well as rum pairings and rum cocktails to complement the coffees. Franciska Apró will host a tasting of Rwandan selections, while tea expert Marianna Varga will present her book Tea in My Garden with a tea cupping.

The detailed programme of the event is available on the event website.
