This year, ten flower floats will be on display in the parade, led by the Holy Crown float. Additionally, the parade will be preceded by an entire week of carnival events, with free concerts for the public every evening on Kossuth Square.

The flower floats for the 20 August Debrecen Flower Carnival are already being prepared. Approximately two thousand participants, including dancers and musicians from both Hungary and abroad, will accompany the floral compositions during the parade, the organizers announced on Thursday.

In their statement, they mentioned that the carnival procession will once again be preceded by the traditional fun run and vintage car show. This year,

ten flower floats will be on display in the parade:

the procession will be led by the Holy Crown float, followed by entries from CATL, Teva, Richter Gedeon, Debrecen Vocational Training Centre, Hungarian Post, BMW Group Plant Debrecen, Forum Debrecen, and Cívis Basketball Club Ltd. Additionally, the joint float of Oradea and Debrecen will also be featured.

Along the parade route on 20 August, the organizers will set up seven grandstands, all but one of which will be covered. The Debrecen Charitable Committee and the city, along with sponsors, will provide a free grandstand for families in financial difficulty this year as well.

The compositions will be accompanied by artistic groups from Hungary and abroad, including Tamba Taya (Spain), Ballet Ópera (Spain), Compagnie Planete Vapeur (France), Bandierai Degli Uffizi di Firenze (Italy), Bafofim Ballet Folklorico Fiesta Mexicana (Mexico), Stelzen Art (Germany), Ensamble Iberioni (Georgia), and the Brazilian Batala International, which will feature more than 250 drummers.

The 20 August parade will be preceded by an entire week of carnival events,

with numerous programmes involving various city institutions and civil communities. Every evening on Kossuth Square, there will be free grand concerts for the public: the series will kick off on 15 August with the Night of Classics, featuring the Kodály Philharmonia Debrecen, entitled Hungarians in Hollywood, followed by performances by Swing à la Django, Irie Maffia, Bohemian Betyars, Magna Cum Laude, Roby Lakatos, Attila Kökény, and Gigi Radics. On 20 August, the Bagossy Brothers will join the Debrecen Flower Carnival audience in celebration.

Between 17–20 August, the organizers are preparing a variety of light projection attractions in the city centre. Notable illuminations will include the Aranybika building, maintained by Mathias Corvinus Collegium, the tower of the Csonkatemplom, and the newly opened Saint Stephen Park, which will host a 3D mapping visual display.

This year, the previously traditional but recently absent night parade will return: on the final night of the Flower Carnival, artistic groups and flower floats will parade from Saint Anna Street to Kossuth Square, illuminated for the evening.

For the young audience, the Galiba Children’s Festival will take place between 17–20 August at its usual location in the amusement park, focusing on the cultures and games of different nations. Performers at Galiba will include carnival dancers, Réka Farkasházi, and the Tintanyúl band.
