Public television, radio and public online media will cover the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship with live broadcasts, using on-site studios, proprietary cameras, and featuring exclusive content, the public media corporation MTVA announced on Tuesday.

M4 Sport, the newly established National Sports Radio, Kossuth radio, M1, and the daily paper Nemzeti Sport, the number one sports daily paper of the country, will bring the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship close to Hungarian fans. All matches of the continental tournament, which starts on 14 June, will be broadcast live, and during matches involving Hungary, thanks to the on-site studio and proprietary cameras, everything happening off the pitch will also be visible.

According to the statement, the public media’s sports channel, complemented by the National Sports Radio (launching on 14 June), Kossuth radio, M1, sports daily Nemzeti Sport, and their online platforms, aims to showcase as much as possible in excellent quality from the European Championship and later the Paris Olympics. The football festival kicks off in Germany on 14 June with the Hungarian national team participating. The public media will broadcast all matches live on the nationwide, free-to-air M4 Sport channel and m4sport.hu website.

They also announced that the continental tournament events can be followed in Budapest and its vicinity on FM 105.9, via mobile application, and on nemzetisport.hu.

The M1 current affairs channel will also be worth following, as their on-site team will regularly report on the tournament. M4 Sport will also welcome viewers with analysis shows, right after the last match of the day and the following morning. The 121-year-old Nemzeti Sport newspaper and its online edition, along with several social media platforms, will provide news, interviews, minute-by-minute updates, photos, and videos.

The reporters and other media workers are also ready, with popular commentators and presenters from the public media awaiting viewers and listeners daily.

A staff of more than 50 at the public media outlets will ensure that fans are informed about everything happening on and off the pitch during Hungarian matches. One team will continuously follow the national team, providing insights into the training camp and preparation, while the other will be based at the venues of the upcoming matches, allowing fans to experience the atmosphere in advance.

The Hungarian national team will start their 2024 European Championship campaign on 15 June against Switzerland. The pre-match press conference will be broadcast live, and on each match day, a preview from the venue will be shown before the next match.
