The life of Ferenc Puskás, one of Hungary’s greatest football legends, is set to captivate audiences in a new series titled Puskás. The production, currently under development by INANI Production, will focus on the transformative ten years that saw Puskás evolve from ‘Öcsi of Kispest’ to an internationally celebrated player for Real Madrid.
The series will not only spotlight Puskás’s meteoric rise but also delve into the historical and social backdrop of communist Hungary in the 1950s. Viewers will be transported to key locations such as Helsinki, London, Bern, Rome, and Madrid—venues of unforgettable triumphs and heart-wrenching defeats, as described in the producer’s announcement.
The screenplay, currently in progress, is being crafted by István Tasnádi, Bálint Hegedűs, and Márton Bárány. The creative process has been enriched by extensive research, with contributions from football experts and historians to ensure authenticity and accuracy.
