‘Between 28 July and 7 August, Ukrainian schoolchildren and their teachers were our guests. The 12- to 16-year-old students and volunteer accompanying adults from the Zaporizhzhia region were accommodated at the Körmend Law Enforcement Technical Institute, and took part in unforgettable programmes,’ the Körmend school shared on their social media page.
The Rapid Response Police provided three buses for the school, allowing it to drive the 109 guests to various programmes every day for ten days, in small groups of three. The organisers of the programmes, as well as the adult volunteers, were instructors and staff of the educational institution.
The children visited, among other places, the Festetics Palace in Keszthely, the Parliament Building, and enjoyed leisure time by Lake Balaton.
‘It’s an honour that we could host you, thank you for the joyful, relaxed hours! We are with you in our thoughts, dear new friends!’, the organisation wrote in their post.
In May, the National Individual Study Competition for Police Students was held, hosted by the Training and Course Organisation Division of the Rapid Response Police Training Centre in Csopak. Three students from Körmend Law Enforcement Technical Institute also reached the podium.
Under the leadership of Police Captain László Csuk and Chief Officer László Ujhelyi, the students arrived at the venue and demonstrated their shooting skills, physical performance on the police obstacle course, theoretical knowledge, and tactical competence in interventions. In the individual rankings, Máté Takács secured second place. Bence Újvári achieved an individual national 3rd place, just like Police Sergeant Máté Balogh.
