The third instalment of MCC Feszt is set to take place between 27 July and 29 July in Esztergom, Hungary. The annual gathering hosted by Mathias Corvinus Collegium first took place in 2021 in the same location. In 2022, back in Esztergom, around 32,000 people attended the event, which featured speakers, concerts, and interactive programmes on its slate. This year’s MCC Feszt is shaping up to be nothing short of that great experience.
Among the scheduled speakers set to make an appearance is Michael Knowles.
The 33-year-old conservative commentator from the United States, who is also a Yale graduate and a former actor, is one of the leading figures of the Daily Wire media company. He has been with the company since 2016, and has been hosting his own daily show there since 2017.
Knowles’ individual YouTube channel can boast over 1.47 million subscribers. It has also seen a huge increase in monthly views recently, going from 13.4 million views in January to 36.4 million last month, May. This is all amidst his company, Daily Wire, being embroiled in a public fight with YouTube about an increased number of content policy violations issued to them.
Knowles himself was not spared from the censors. He received a one-week suspension for his statements on transgenderism. According to Knowles, YouTube took particular umbrage with him claiming that it is ‘delusional’ to think that a man can be a woman, and vice versa; as well as that he would not indulge his child’s hypothetical request to be treated as a member of the opposite sex, even he would be tempted to cater to their feelings.
These discussions were, shockingly, deemed too controversial by YouTube. Candace Owens, another Daily Wire personality also received a suspension. Meanwhile, Matt Walsh, the creator of the hit documentary What is a Woman?, got his channel demonetised. This means that he can no longer run ads on his videos, and thus cannot make money from a share of the generated ad revenue.
All this prompted Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boering to take to Twitter, where, in a long thread, he called out the video sharing giant for not staying true to its stated commitment to free and open debate.
