Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s most renowned higher education ranking organizations, has recognized the outstanding employability prospects of fresh graduates of Corvinus University of Budapest. According to data from the Educational Authority, Corvinus graduates enjoy a significant salary advantage, boasting the highest average gross earnings in the country.
This year, in the ‘Employability–Performance Improvement’ category, the QS awarded Corvinus University of Budapest. The commendation highlighted that
the university has taken significant steps to enhance the employability of its graduates, nurturing future leaders who will make a substantial impact in their respective fields.
The award was presented at the QS European Higher Education Conference held in Sitges, near Barcelona, and was received by Péter Fehér, Corvinus’s International Director. Péter Fehér remarked that the award is the result of a collective effort, recognizing the university’s continuous endeavour to educate motivated young graduates equipped with marketable skills and prepared for work and development.
The labour market continues to confirm that the university is on the right track: according to the Educational Authority’s data, Corvinus graduates have a remarkable salary advantage, earning on average 207,000 HUF gross more than the average earnings of those who obtained their bachelor’s degree in economics nine years ago. This makes the gross average salary of Corvinus graduates the highest in the country, as highlighted by Richárd Szántó, Dean responsible for Corvinus’s undergraduate programmes.
Master’s graduates are also highly valued in terms of earnings: their average salary 160,000–180,000 HUF more than that of those with similar master’s degrees from other Hungarian universities. According to the latest, 2023 data released by the Educational Authority in 2023, a graduate who completed their studies in finance at Corvinus nine years ago earns an average of HUF 1.1 million per month. Two-thirds of Corvinus graduates start working during their studies, and it takes less than a month to find a job with a fresh Corvinus degree.
The fact that it is indeed easy to quickly find a good job with a Corvinus degree is also reflected in the Financial Times’ latest 2023 ranking. The university’s master’s programme in management and organization is ranked 17th globally in terms of value for money. The evaluation also highlighted that 99 per cent of graduates from this programme find employment within three months, and the earnings of those who graduated in 2020 increased by two-thirds within two to three years of graduation.
