Great news for The Offspring fans: the band will return to Hungary next year after a seven-year absence. The world-famous Californian punk-rock band will perform at Budapest’s MVM Dome on 31 October 2025.

Last week, the band released their latest album, Supercharged, which they will promote during the newly announced The Offspring: Supercharged Worldwide in ’25 tour, Live Nation informed on Monday.

The Offspring was formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, California. Over the course of their forty-year career, they have released eleven studio albums and, along with fellow Californian bands Green Day and Rancid, are credited with reviving rock music’s popularity in the 1990s. The band has sold more than 40 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling rock bands.

Their latest album, Supercharged, released last week, is aggressive yet melodic, with a sound that is distinctly Southern Californian but also universal. Produced by Bob Rock, the ten tracks showcase The Offspring’s energy and their significant role in the birth of the Southern California punk scene. Lead singer Dexter Holland’s lyrics are sharp, drawing inspiration from many personal experiences. This year, The Offspring celebrated the 30th anniversary of their third album, Smash, which sold six million copies worldwide. Their 1998 album Americana sold 15 million copies. The Offspring first performed in Hungary in 2008 at the VOLT Festival, and later played at the Sziget and Fezen festivals, with their most recent performance in 2018 at Budapest’s Tüskecsarnok.

The band continues to tour the world, resonating with younger generations who are characterized by the same anxiety and aggression that underpin The Offspring’s music. Last year, Queen guitarist Brian May and Ed Sheeran joined them on stage at various concerts, with Sheeran even showing off his Offspring tattoo.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Dexter Holland is one of rock’s true renaissance men. He holds a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Southern California (USC), with his dissertation focused on HIV research. He is also a professional pilot and certified flight instructor who volunteers for medical transport flights. Additionally, he runs a hot sauce company called Gringo Bandito.

The Offspring’s current line-up includes Noodles (guitar, vocals), Todd Morse (bass, vocals), Jonah Nimoy (guitar, keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Brandon Pertzborn (drums).
