The post refers to announcements made by PM Orbán during his State of the Nation address last month. Previously, mothers of four children or more enjoyed lifetime income tax exemption, which was also an initiative by the Orbán administration. This has now been expanded to mothers of two or three children as well. However, they will be gradually included in the scheme. According to Minister for National Economy Márton Nagy, mothers of three will be granted the exemption in the fall of 2025, while the full inclusion of all mothers of two, around 600,000 Hungarian women as of today, will take until 2030.
Meanwhile, the income tax exemption for mothers under the age of 30, also mentioned in the viral post, has been in effect since 2023.
The comments under the X post about the Hungarian initiative are overwhelmingly positive. However, many users point out that they believe this type of family support policy could only work if the country also applies strict border control.
‘That will only work in countries that aren’t already flooded with third world immigrants,’ one user wrote in the comments. ‘But not every European nation is like homogeneous Hungary. All other European nations must ensure these benefits apply only for their indigenous population or else Muslim colonizers will take advantage of it!’ another reply to the original post, which has received over 2,600 likes, reads.
