All three Hungarian hostages, a woman and two girls, who have been held by Hamas since 7 October have regained their freedom.

Through the mediation of the Qatari government, additional hostages, including two Hungarian citizens, were released from Hamas captivity on Sunday, as announced by Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on his Facebook page.

Earlier, on Saturday, Hungarian Noga Weisz was among the hostages who were let go by the terrorists. Minister Szijjártó stressed that all three Hungarian hostages have now regained their freedom. ‘I expressed my gratitude to our Qatari counterpart for assisting in the release of the Hungarian hostages, as promised,’ Péter Szijjártó added.

According to Israeli reports, a total of fourteen Israelis, including a Russian-Israeli dual citizen, and three Thai nationals were handed over to the International Red Cross. The relief organization has confirmed that the released hostages are in satisfactory health. The third group of hostages consists of nine children, two mothers, two elderly women, and one man returning to their loved ones.

The two girls holding both Hungarian and Israeli citizenship are aged 8 and 15 respectively. The children were spending the first weekend of October with their father when Hamas militants infiltrated the southern part of Israel. The terrorists killed their father, Noam, his partner Dikla, and Dikla’s 17-year-old son. The girls’ mother, Majan Zin, a Hungarian citizen, has been pleading for their release and even offered to take the girls’ place among the hostages.
