The Hungarian Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the country’s JAS-39 Gripen fighter jets have been deployed to Skrydstrup Air Base, Denmark, to take part in Ramstein Flag 2025. This large-scale NATO multinational air combat exercise will be conducted in the airspace of Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands and will continue until 11 April.
Ramstein Flag 2025 is one of NATO’s most significant air force exercises, focusing on improving interoperability and joint operational capabilities among allied nations in the northern region of the alliance.
Throughout the two-week exercise, participating pilots will engage in advanced combat scenarios, including air-to-air combat, ground target strikes, and joint operations with both air and land forces from multiple nations.

More than 15 NATO member states are taking part in the drills, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The Hungarian fighter jets will also be cooperating with fifth-generation F-35 stealth aircraft, executing both offensive and defensive air operations in a realistic multinational setting.
The Hungarian Air Force has demonstrated its high level of preparedness in previous international exercises, and Ramstein Flag 2025 marks another significant step in refining the combat readiness of pilots, aircraft, and support crews. The exercise allows them to enhance tactical proficiency while integrating the latest combat strategies.
