To strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem in Hungary, Budapest will host the Hungary Innovation Week from 23 to 28 September, starting with an international conference, the National Innovation Agency (NIÜ), the organizer of the programme, said in a statement.

The statement quoted László Bódis, CEO of the NIÜ, who explained that Hungary Innovation Week is an umbrella event, with domestic startups, SMEs, and innovation-focused organizations being invited to schedule their autumn events during this week.

During the week, innovation events will be hosted by organizations such as EduTech Hungary, the Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HVCA), the Vienna Business Agency, the Hungarian Project Management Association, RInnoValleys, and the Hungarian Business Angel Network (HUNBAN).

The lead-up event for the week will be NIÜ’s own Hungary Innovation Summit conference,

where experts from leading domestic companies in research and development will discuss the impact of R&D activities on both the business itself and the innovation ecosystem. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the operations and best practices of the innovation agencies from Sweden, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Additionally, domestic and international experts will debate the future of innovation, the societal challenges of new technologies, and the internationally successful models for building innovation ecosystems in lectures, workshops, and panel discussions.

At the Hungary Innovation Summit, representatives from Richter, Bosch, the Wigner Research Centre for Physics, Evosoft, and the OECD, among others, will be presenting.
