MVM Mobiliti has inaugurated its first charging station with a total capacity of 600 kilowatts in Törökbálint, on the premises of an Auchan store, financed by European Union support, announced MVM Mobiliti Kft, the operator of the country’s largest e-charging network on Monday.

According to the announcement, the development was realized as part of the MVM Ultra project, funded by the European Union’s Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). The total cost of the project is 1.217 billion HUF, of which the grant amounts to 1.5 million EUR (587 million HUF).

The programme includes the installation of charging stations with a total capacity of 600 kilowatts at ten locations, each equipped with at least 150-kilowatt charging heads, thus enabling faster and more convenient charging for customers.

These infrastructure developments significantly contribute to the spread of environmentally friendly transportation in Hungary, thereby assisting in achieving both Hungarian and European Union climate and environmental goals, highlighted the announcement.

Following the Törökbálint location,

Mobiliti, which has been collaborating with the French Auchan retail chain for years, will implement its investments in nine towns in car parks of Auchan stores:

first in Miskolc, then in Budakalász, Csömör, Dunakeszi, Fót, Kecskemét, Maglód, Székesfehérvár, and Szolnok.

In addition to the funding won in 2022 for ten locations, Mobiliti has secured an additional grant of 3 million EUR (1.17 billion HUF) to establish 600-kilowatt capacity electric charging stations at another twenty locations across the country in the future.

The announcement stated that the MVM Group places great emphasis on creating a sustainable future and supporting electromobility. Mobiliti, a subsidiary of the group, operates Hungary’s largest electric charging infrastructure as a Charge-Point-Operator. It offers green electricity from renewable energy sources provided by MVM at its own charging points.

Its network of 1,700 public e-charging points ensures nationwide coverage for its registered customers, whose number exceeds 100,000.
