‘In the final hour, we are striving to emerge from the war frenzy provoked by the European ‘‘liberal mainstream’’,’ declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Budapest on Monday.
Peter Szijjártó emphasized during an event held at Millenáris Park that the current leadership of the European Union, the liberals, have caused significant damage to Europe with their misguided sanction policies, affecting the daily lives of European citizens. He noted that their clear political responsibility, based on the principle of ‘the best defence is a good offense’,
is reinforcing and promoting a war psychosis.
The minister finds it astonishing that certain European political leaders are already discussing the use of nuclear weapons, forgetting the irreversible consequences it would entail. Hungary has never taken any steps that would escalate or prolong the war, causing further loss of life, he asserted. Szijjártó considers it crucial that right-wing victories occur in both the European Parliament (EP) elections and the US presidential elections because, as he stated, this is necessary to ‘put an end to the war psychosis.’
Among other things, the minister spoke about Hungary facing astounding attacks from a ‘community of which it is itself a member’ simply because the Hungarian right, which has received a two-thirds majority in democratic elections four times, pursues a sovereignist policy and dares to state that a father is a man, a mother is a woman, and that ‘we have the right to decide who can enter the country, with whom we want to live.’ He emphasized that Hungary, according to international law, provides refuge as the first safe country for those fleeing war, while defending its southern border against those attempting to cross illegally. The minister also stressed that despite this, they are withholding EU funds, which rightfully belong to Hungary. This goes completely against all laws, he added.
He noted that the Hungarian economy could not be broken, highlighting that there have never been as many people employed in Hungary as there are today. ‘The successes achieved over the heroic work of the past 14 years would not have been possible without the tools provided by the Hungarian people,’ he emphasized, adding:
‘We will not give up our sovereignty, independence, or national interests under any circumstances.’
‘A political system is not democratic simply because liberals win,’ he said.
In the coming period, the focus must remain on defending sovereignty, he added, stressing that achieving a right-wing turn requires intense work.
If a right-wing turn can be realized in Brussels, it will have very serious consequences for the liberal mainstream, and this will largely be decided online, in the world of the internet, he opined, requesting further intense work from Megafon’s staff in the remaining part of the election campaign.
