Tamás Menczer, the State Secretary for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is taking over the position of communications director of the ruling parties, replacing István Hollik, it was announced today.
The government politician shared on his Facebook page on Wednesday that he will conclude his work as state secretary, but he will continue to do everything for the Pest County constituency of the Budakeszi area, of which he has been the parliamentary representative, in the future. Menczer called it a great honour to be able to work as the communications director of Fidesz–KDNP, ‘the strongest and most successful political community in Europe’.
The politician thanked his predecessor, István Hollik, for his work. ‘We will fight with our heads held high and our backs straight, and thanks to the strength of our community, we will win!’, he wrote.
Tamás Menczer is a Hungarian politician and diplomat who has served in various capacities within the Hungarian government. He is known for his role as the State Secretary for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He was born in 1984 in Pécs. He graduated in 2002, and then obtained his diploma from the Faculty of International Relations at the Budapest Business School in 2006. He is married with one child.
From 2006 to 2011 he worked as an editor-reporter and presenter at Duna Television, and then from 2011 to 2015 he served in the same positions at the Hungarian public media company MTVA. From 2015 he served as Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; from 2017 he held the position of Deputy State Secretary responsible for communication and parliamentary coordination, and since 2018 he has been working as the State Secretary for Information and the International Representation of Hungary. In 2022 he won an individual mandate as a Fidesz–KDNP candidate in the 2nd electoral district of Pest County in the parliamentary election. He speaks German and English fluently.
