How The Democrats Make My Job as a Republican Campaigner Easy

‘There has been an extraordinarily noticeable and palpable shift in the political culture and discourse in the United States over the past two decades…And the absolute most crucial thing the Democratic Party wants you to believe is that, above all else, being a Democrat is the only acceptable thing to be in America.’

My business has been flipping votes from Blue to Red, and business has been booming. In the past few years, the Democratic Party has become anything but democratic, and while it claims to champion diversity, it has become the ultimate critic and destroyer of it, promoting, above all else, uniformity and conformity. The failure to comply with any facet of its platform, no matter how small, is akin to a social death penalty. To be publicly decried and slandered, not for the policies you disagree with, but for your character as a person.

And I say keep it up—you’re making my life way easier.

There has been an extraordinarily noticeable and palpable shift in the political culture and discourse in the United States over the past two decades. Gone are the days of public debates with the likes of President George W. Bush and Vice President Al Gore sitting in armchairs next to each other, sharing laughs as they debated policy in the 2000 election. Political discourse has devolved from centering around policy to focusing on who espouses that policy or votes for it. And the absolute most crucial thing the Democratic Party wants you to believe is that, above all else, being a Democrat is the only acceptable thing to be in America.

It’s no secret that identity politics has become the cornerstone of the Democratic Party. But that identity isn’t a person’s race, gender identity, or sexual orientation. The secret is virtue signaling and selling the identity of being a Democrat itself. The real trick is convincing someone that they can’t be a part of their ethnic community or consider themselves a true member of their gender if they don’t align entirely with the Democratic party.

And they’ve been wildly successful. Until now.

The Democrats’ strategy of selling the Democratic identity as the only acceptable one has finally started to backfire. It’s not completely dead yet, but it has revealed very real systemic problems in the party. The most obvious problem is the quality of candidates the party runs across the U.S. Having helped run many races across the country, one of the largest problems Democrats have is candidates who seem not to even know what the office they are running for actually does.

‘The Democrats’ strategy of selling the Democratic identity as the only acceptable one has finally started to backfire’

One need not look further than Fairfax County, VA, arguably the bluest county in the country, located just outside of Washington, D.C., for a clear example. In 2023, Fairfax County held local elections, including for its Board of District Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors in Fairfax County has a variety of responsibilities, ranging from approving land usage to deciding local tax rates and approving the budget for spending in the county. It would be common sense that any election in Fairfax County should be an easy win for the Democrats. But, in November 2023, Republican Pat Herrity, a now-candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, won the election by over 5,000 votes. That’s a big win in a small local race. Why did he win in such a landslide? He happened to be the only candidate who spent the entire time campaigning on issues that the office actually does.

The Democrats spent the majority of the campaign targeting voters with the usual talking points—abortion, trans rights, and gun issues. While each issue warrants serious discussion and would be relevant to any other race, especially at the State level, once voters did the least bit of research, they found that a District Supervisor did not have any say or effect on any of those issues whatsoever. The role of District Supervisor did, however, have a say in what their local tax rate was and what county funds were spent on, something the Herrity campaign discussed at length with the voters of Fairfax County.  And the voters appreciated it, with many self-identifying lifelong Democrats casting their vote for a Republican for the first time.

What does this small, local race in 2023 have to do with the 2024 Presidential election? This race, along with many others, shows that the Democratic Party has lost touch with its voters. They’ve stopped listening to what they think is important, and rather have switched to a strategy where they themselves tell the voters what is important. Instead of listening and messaging towards the concerns of their constituents, they’ve been waging a massive propaganda strategy telling voters that they need to care about what the Democratic Party cares about, not their personal issues. And any deviation from the needs or concerns of the party, no matter how small, is met with scorn and scrutiny like never before. Take the example of Georgia State House Representative Mesha Mainor of Fulton County, GA. Elected as a Democrat, Representative Mainor was relentlessly harassed and publicly decried as a traitor by the Democratic Party. What was her crime? She voted to support an education bill that would provide school vouchers for constituents in her district. One single vote, regardless of all the other issues, bills, and policies she stood in agreement with the Democratic Party on, was enough to get the party searching for candidates to primary her in the next election and run a public smearing campaign. A campaign that was so divisive and insulting that Representative Mainor ended up switching to the Republican Party, becoming the first African American woman to hold office in the State of Georgia as a Republican.

‘The Democrats relied on virtue signaling, conformity, and peer pressure to get voters to the polls’

This total demand for complete conformity is a huge reason for the defection of traditionally Democrat voters that helped hand President Trump a massive victory in 2024. President Trump received a higher amount of support from historically Democratic areas than any other Republican president in history. And, notwithstanding countless Democratic claims, parroted by friendly media outlets, that Trump is a divisive, racist figure, he won a record amount of votes from the African American and Latino communities. To those voters, it seemed that they were taken for granted and that the Democratic Party and the Harris campaign were more concerned with the endorsements of celebrities from Hollywood rather than addressing their concerns.

Conversely, the Trump campaign embraced intellectual diversity and invested heavily in outreach to groups seen as traditional voting blocs for Democrats. While the Democrats took them for granted, Republicans and the Trump campaign got out of their comfort zone and took their soapboxes to deep blue areas. They sought—and succeeded—to make the case that the Republican Party and President Trump aren’t just a party and candidate for Christian conservatives, but for all Americans. From co-hosting events at Hindu temples and mosques across the country to sending Trump family members to Gay Pride and Log Cabin Republican events, President Trump and Republican leadership worked hard to make it clear that there was room for all Americans in their platform. President Trump even went so far as to address the concerns of these communities personally. He has, for example, publicly decried religious discrimination against the Hindu community both in the U.S. and abroad, bringing their concerns to light for the American public.

And the results speak for themselves. Whereas President Trump and the Republican Party worked to increase the intellectual diversity of the Republican Party and worked to be a Party and President for all Americans, the Democrats relied on virtue signaling, conformity, and peer pressure to get voters to the polls. And the more the Democrats continue this strategy, the lower the quality of candidates they field for office will be, fielding only Democrat yes men, and the support for the Republican party will only grow.

And in President Trump’s words: we will win, win, win so much, we will get sick of winning.
