Hungary Won’t Give Up Its Fight to Protect Children From Over-Sexualised LGBTQ+ Trends

'While, as we can see, more and more Western governments support the over-sexualisation of children with LGTBQ programmes, Hungarian Justice Minister Judit Varga filed a counterclaim with the Court of Justice of the European Union in favour of the Hungarian Child Protection Act. She also highlighted in her Facebook post that Hungary will continue to "stand by its conviction and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union that education is a national competence and that parents have the right to decide on the upbringing of their children."'

In June 2021, the Hungarian parliament adopted a law on child protection that introduced Europe’s first legislation designed to protect kids from gender ideology in schools, reinforce previous family protection measures, and equip Hungarian courts with the tools to impose more serious sentences on those that commit sex crimes against children. Although the law was passed almost two years ago, the EU still calls it ‘anti-LGBTQ’ and does not seem to be concerned with the law’s actual content, as the bill does not include anything that would discriminate against LGBTQ+ adults. As explained in a previous Hungarian Conservative article, if someone reads through the actual text of the law, they can see that the bill’s sole purpose is to protect children from paedophilia and over-sexualisation.

For the sake of reiteration, the law only applies to children under the age of 18, and it states that: ‘… in order to ensure the rights of the child, pornography and content that depicts sexuality for its own purposes, or deviation from gender identity, gender change and homosexuality, are prohibited for children under 18.’ So, do forbidding pornography, either homosexual or heterosexual, and the promotion of dangerous hormone blockers to children really contradict European values?

Even though ‘it is extremely rare for the European Parliament to intervene in a case where it does not have a direct stake’ as John Morijn, a law and politics professor at the University of Groningen, told the EUObserver at the end of March, when the EP’s committee on legal affairs voted in favour of parliament joining the European Commission’s case against Hungary over the child protection law.

Irreversible Damage: The Wounds That Won’t Heal

Unfortunately, more and more stories come to light which highlight how dangerous it can be for children to be introduced to LGBTQ ideologies and content. In a recent episode of The Dr Jordan B. Peterson Podcast, the famous clinical psychologist had a discussion with Chloe Cole, an 18-year-old former transgender teenager. Cole started her transition to be a boy at the age of 12 with puberty blockers, started taking testosterone at 13, and had a double mastectomy at 15 years old. Soon after her mastectomy, she began to regret her transition deeply and chose to detransition in 2021. Ever since, she has been advocating against gender transition for children so other kids would not fall into the same trap as her.

Detransition: The Wounds That Won’t Heal | Chloe Cole | EP 319

Dr Jordan B Peterson sits down with 18 years old de-transitioner Chloe Cole. Chloe was indoctrinated, affirmed, and set on an irreparable path at the age of 15, and now finds herself abandoned by the community and the doctors that lead her over the edge.

At the age of seven, Cole was diagnosed with autism and ADHD. According to scientific studies, there is a link between autism and gender dysphoria which is why autistic children are particularly vulnerable to the pull of transgenderism. Abigail Shrier, the writer of the book titled Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, quoted Susan Bradley, a child psychiatrist, in her 2021 City Journal article. She went on to state that

introducing gender ideology to the mentally ill, especially to autistic kids, is like introducing cocaine to those susceptible to addiction.

The child psychiatrist also explained that when these kids meet with the faux messages of acceptance and understanding of trans activists, it ‘has the same power as cocaine to assuage all the alienation, grief and distress that these kids have been struggling with’.

Northwestern University psychology professor Michael Bailey also analysed survey data from 1,655 parents of children aged 11–21 who identified as the opposite sex or non-binary. According to the study, the majority of children who transitioned had pre-existing mental health issues like depression, anxiety, deficit disorder and autism. This is worrisome as these children usually lacked the judgement they needed to make these irreversibly severe decisions about their bodies. The same survey also found most parents said that their children’s mental health didn’t improve, in many cases even worsened, after transitioning.

In the above-cited podcast discussion, Cole also explained how at every step of her transition, medical professionals treated her as if she was an adult and was fully aware of how seriously her decisions will impact the rest of her life. Children are allowed to make these life-determining decisions partly because

in many places, like in the state of Washington, minors can receive gender-affirming care even from the age of 13.

Also, because parents—such as Cole’s—get the ‘advice’ from gender clinics that their only option is to allow and support their child’s transition or else they would commit suicide.

Cole, however, only started to experience depression and suicidal thoughts after she started her transition. At the end of the podcast discussion, Peterson highlighted that what should have happened at Cole’s first therapy session was a very deep investigation into her background, then a whole comprehensive range of options should have been laid out to her and her parents, followed by a lengthy discussion of the consequence of all of those options. Peterson also explained that these discussions should have been followed by at least six months of weekly therapy sessions, which could have resulted in accepting her identity before choosing to go through the brutal process of medical interventions.

Cole still suffers from side effects of joint pains from the hormone blockers, and health complications from the double mastectomy operation. At the end of the podcast discussion, she confessed with tears in her eyes that the hardest part for her is that she experiences the sexual dysfunction that women usually experience above the age of 50, and that the beauty of motherhood was stripped away from her for good at a very young age. Cole also noted that when she asked for medical help for her health complications, doctors could not truly do anything for her. She filed a letter of intent to sue against the healthcare provider, the hospital where she had the operation, the surgeon who did it, and the gender specialists who referred her to the doctors who put her on the hormone blockers. As she came forward with her story, LGBTQ activists started to harass and threaten her; therefore, she has to rely on security guards whenever she goes to public events.

Joe Biden: Trans Surgery Ban for Children is ‘Close to Sinful’

While Republican governors, representatives, and other politicians fight to criminalise gender procedures on minors, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, described efforts to block children from transgender medical treatments as ‘immoral’ and ‘close to sinful’ during an interview with Kal Penn for The Daily Show. Biden made his statements as a reaction to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ actions, who will soon enact measures banning gender-affirming medical care for youth, including barring doctors from prescribing puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgeries for patients under 18.

In June 2022, reacting to a Texas bill proposing to restrict gender-affirming care on minors, Biden signed an executive order to increase access to gender-affirming care and develop ways to counter state efforts to limit such treatments for transgender minors. The Biden administration’s counter efforts to withdraw laws that ban sex-change treatments for minors are supported by several LGBTQ activists and celebrities who also lobby against such laws. On March 2, Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee signed two pieces of legislation into law protecting children from sex-change procedures like mastectomies on girls who identify as boys, cross-sex hormones, and puberty blockers, as well as sexually explicit drag shows performed in front of minors. In response, the LGBTQ+ community organised a concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to raise money to fight the Tennessee legislation. Famous singer Maren Morris also sang at the event, and proudly told the audience: ‘Yes, I introduced my two-year-old son to some drag queens today, so Tennessee, f***ing arrest me’.

On March 28, the world was shocked by the news of the Nashville school shooting in which Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a 28-year-old transgender Nashville resident, shot and killed three students and three faculty members at the Christian private The Covenant School. The transgender shooter was a former Covenant student and had planned the attack for months. Sen. Josh Hawley told Fox News that the shooter intentionally targeted Christians and possibly carried out the attack out of resentment for having to study at the Covenant school. Not only did the Biden administration not acknowledge that the horrific attack happened in a Christian school, but also failed to note that it was attacked by a person who identified as transgender. The Biden administration’s attitude towards the attack showed that the current executive power in the US truly protects all transgender people and their identities, even if it is about a mass killer. At his first public appearance after the shooting, the POTUS was asked whether he agreed with the Republican senator’s statement that it was an attack on the Christian community, to which he replied with a chuckle, then saying, ‘I have no idea, I probably don’t believe they were targeted,’ and quickly added, ‘No, I’m joking’.

Josh Hawley on Twitter: “Christians targeted for hate crimes – in America – and Biden laughs https://t.co/a6OWeWEMyE / Twitter”

If it wasn’t enough of Joe Biden’s bizarre jokes, before the US President officially addressed the mass shooting at the Nashville school, he made a joke saying he ‘only made a public appearance because he heard there would be ice cream’.

The Canadian government is another one of the main supporters of transgender propaganda, which is why children there can be exposed to ‘Junior Drag Camp’ in Vancouver organised by drag artists—over-sexualised males with heavy makeup in female clothing—for minors aged 7–11, and a separate ‘Teen Drag Camp’ for teenagers aged 12–17.

Hungary Will Tighten Its Child Protection Law

While, as we can see, more and more Western governments support the over-sexualisation of children with LGTBQ programmes, Hungarian Justice Minister Judit Varga filed a counterclaim with the Court of Justice of the European Union in favour of the Hungarian Child Protection Act. She also highlighted in her Facebook post that Hungary will continue to ‘stand by its conviction and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union that education is a national competence and that parents have the right to decide on the upbringing of their children.’

After the Hungarian government adopted the child protection law, the most common argument among opposition parties was that it was not important to create a bill that prohibits schools from teaching LGBTQ+ propaganda, as supposedly no school in Hungary allows that. This argument proved to be naive and wrong as

the shocking story came to light about an LGBTQ+ activist 39-year-old pedagogical assistant, who talked about having an affair with a 15-year-old student

in a video he posted on his social media. In it, he stated many times that he did not consider having a relationship with a minor problematic, given that the age of consent in Hungary is currently 14. The Hungarian Justice Minister stated that these events ‘clearly show the need for a child protection law’ then added, ‘it is possible that the age of consent could be raised.’ Fidesz MEP Gabriella Selmeczi, in her recent statement, said that the Hungarian government plan to submit the next child protection package to parliament in the fall. Several aspects of the fight against paedophilic crimes have also been tightened, including the penalties and a ban on employment. If someone is convicted of such crimes, he or she can no longer work among children.
