Balázs Orbán: ‘2024 was a lot better than the year before, but not as good as what we will see this year’

Political Director Balázs Orbán has talked to the Hungarian business site Portfolio.hu. In it, he expressed optimism about the incoming Trump administration ending the war in Eastern Europe, which would be very beneficial for the region’s economy. ‘If there is no threat of war, there is investor interest, there are no sanctions, no energy supply problems, no signs of economic overheating in war zones, but increased production and trade,’ he explained.

‘Sovereign conservatism has a moral duty to prioritize what is best for your own people. If you are not strong enough to defend your position, you are not sovereign,’ Balázs Orbán stated. The political director to the Hungarian prime minister made this remark while participating in a conference hosted by the Danube Institute focusing on the foreign policy implications of a second Donald Trump presidency.

Balázs Orbán Hails Strengthening Economic Ties at Hungary–Korea Forum

‘We Hungarians have learned from South Korea’s success story that a strong economy cannot be built without a firm commitment to our values; thus, we have combined our traditions with technology,’ Balázs Orbán stated at the Hungary-Korea Forum. The political director of the Hungarian Prime Minister welcomed the deepening economic cooperation between the two countries at the event, which marked the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Balázs Orbán’s 1956 Remarks Misconstrued to Smear the Government

In a recent podcast, Balázs Orbán drew a comparison between the 1956 Revolution and the war in Ukraine. His remarks, taken out of context and misinterpreted, were swiftly exploited to smear the government of Hungary. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán responded by stressing that the war in Ukraine must not be allowed to overshadow the memory of the heroes of 1956, and that Hungary’s position must always be articulated accurately and unambiguously.

In his keynote speech at the fourth Danube Institute – The Heritage Foundation Geopolitical Summit, Political Director for the Prime Minister of Hungary Balázs Orbán talked about how the current liberal world order is changing, and conservatives now have the chance to not be the ‘losers’ of the new world order. He also stressed the importance of favouring family policies instead of migration for the solution to the demographic challenges; as well as the upcoming presidential election in the US.

Balázs Orbán Hints at Possible PfE Expansion in the Near Future

Balázs Orbán, the political director for the Hungarian Prime Minister, participated in a panel discussion at this year’s Bálványos Summer Free University and Student Camp. He spoke about the current state of the European right, Viktor Orbán’s peace mission, and Hungarian foreign policy strategy. He mentioned that the Patriots for Europe political group, co-founded by Viktor Orbán, will be expanded in the near future, but he did not specify who the new members might be.

He delivered a comprehensive speech that basically critiqued neoliberalism and advocated for national conservatism instead.
