Kós became the second Hungarian male swimmer to win this event at the Olympics, following Sándor Wladár, the current president of the Hungarian Swimming Federation. This victory marked Hungary’s 30th Olympic gold in swimming, and the first Hungarian gold medal in Paris.

This weekend’s race promises excitement on the track, with four teams appearing to be in contention for victory. As a unique circuit often likened to ‘Monaco without the walls,’ the Hungaroring might disrupt the usual competitive hierarchy.

The Hungarian Grand Prix will be held at the Hungaroring on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 19–21 July. The trophies the podium finishers will receive, neo-classical style vases made by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory featuring a special Far Eastern motif called the ‘Imperial Peony’, were also presented at the race circuit in Mogyoród at a press conference held today.

The Hungarian team won the combined event in 11:56.66 minutes, surpassing the second-best Ukrainians by 36 seconds.

CEO of MTVA Dániel Papp expressed that during the most challenging times, it was sport that Hungarian society could cling to, as it provided a sense of freedom.
